Why I’m a Mental Health Champion for Essington Harriers
Running has had such a positive effect on my own mental health and wellbeing over the last few years, without I’m not sure where I’d be. So to be able to be a mental health champion and be around to lend an ear is very important to me, I’ll even buy the beer
What has been your favourite race or racing memory so far?
Running towards and over Tower Bridge during the London Marathon, the noise and support was deafening. Something I recommend anyone to experience
What are your pre-race rituals?
Nervous Poo, energy gel, hug someone next to you and go for it!!!
What are you pre & post race snacks?
Always have a banana and weetabix for breakfast and after a race, a beer always!
What advice would you give a new runner?
Relax, enjoy the process and remember it’s your journey
What’s your proudest running achievement?
Running the London Marathon and raising money for Breast Cancer Now but as equally as important…. the friends I’ve made
What future race ambitions do you have?
I always have one eye on a pb but to be able to support someone to theirs means so much more

I’m mainly hung over on the start line
