On Sunday 9th May 2021, team Essington Harriers took part in the 2021 Wings For Life World Run app race.
Tara, Sarah and Robin took on the WFL challenge racing against a virtual catcher car, and managed to get in a decent 15km before being caught. On one of the hottest days for running so far this year so it was tough going, and a technical glitch put Robin out of the race at 9km (and I’m not angry about that at all!)
There were 184,236 runners taking part this year from 195 nations around the world, (info) and β¬4.1 million was raised for spinal cord research. 100% of the entry fee goes to the Wings For Life foundation, the event is entirely sponsored by Red Bull and partners.
